I never understood why the banning of the "N" word... It's even more surprising when guys like Paul Mooney and Russell Simmons all of sudden all seems to be getting very uncomfortable with the "N" word after Michael Richard's idiotic outburst on stage. Sure, I am not a black person, but I do have a fair share of racist words thrown at me from time to time, words like "Chink, Chinaman, chin chang chong"... shits like that. It's hateful and they make me angry, but do I want to have these words banned? NO. Why would I want that? I mean are we going to start using "C" word, "W" word or "B" word? That is just ridiculous. What about words like motherfucker, asshole, cunt, twat which either offends the people universally or half of the human race?
People don't realize that these are just words, and the problem doesn't come from the words themselves; it's the context that's the problem. It's when idiots like Michael Richards and Don Imus open their mouth without going through their brains. It's when you speak to another human being with a hateful intention. These are words that remind us the ugly side of the human nature. By referring "Nigger" as "N" word, do you think people would stop having "Nigger" appear in their head?
People are so sensitive these days and it's becoming so unhealthy and stupid. They want everything sugar coated and political correct, so nobody gets hurt. And what does that do? We breed a generation of pussies that can't take the truth that racism does exist, men and women are still not equal, the war is a lie, bees are disappearing, and Manhattan is going under the sea very soon if we don't do something about the global warming...
Lenny Bruce fought all his life for the first amendment right, and with the banning of "N" word, we take a big step backward.
SHARE FAIR
There is no such thing as "free downloads". Somebody is always paying the price. By all means, support the artists and please BUY the music you like, visit concerts, buy merchandise. It's one thing to be able to discover a whole new world of music you might otherwise never have had access to, but it would be pretty stupid not to honour and value the creative genius of the people involved. So please allow everybody their fair share and "share fair". -- Totally Fuzzy
